Yesterday saw another 'Independence Day' for Perky.

According to him, he 'does not need a grown up to help him'.

With what? Well, most things, it would seem, and he thinks he is old enough to get to school on his own... I can stay in the car, he tells me. I fibbed and said I was going to the front office which was fine with him. I waited until he was a little ahead then started following him. He spotted me as he hung up his bag and when he asked what I was doing, I said I was finished at the front office and wanted to kiss him goodbye. He believed me and was happy to oblige with a hug and kiss.

Today we walked to school which was fine with Perky. As we got closer to the kindergarten area, we were greeted by several children, one of whom Perky was glad to see, he is a boy in the K/1 class, I think (I will call him P) and he was so lovely and HUGGED Perky hello! Perky asked him 'P, are you my friend?' and he replied 'of course!' I cannot express how heart-warmingly lovely, encouraging, delightful, beautiful that was. Such cute kids! Such a sweet little guy.

Today is Wednesday, so that means Dru Yoga day and once again is was sublime. I am so relaxed, yet energized. The teacher is brilliant. Today she had some of her flower essences she makes up and sprayed the room with rosewood and geranium. That alone was so lovely. I want some. Perhaps it will help with the inability to stay asleep all night. Both Husbeend and I are having some trouble. Minds that won't be quiet.

A short while ago Pinky's school learning support person called. We have made a time to discuss what will help Pinky in class! Yahooooooooooooooo! I am going to take a thorough list from our occupational therapist of what to request. I am going the whole hog - if you don't ask, you don't get!

To top off a great start, I found a new handbag on sale (yes, it is purple) AND had a delicious gluten free falafel roll for lunch. Such bliss. Life does not get any better than this, even the sleep deprivation is not a big deal right now. I guess from that you should seriously consider some Dru Yoga for yourself!

For those who might be wondering from my post the other day about Therapeutic Listening, this varies depending on the individual, but for Pinky this means listening to a specific music CD which has other interference type noises recorded into it for half an hour, twice a day. The idea is to de-sensitise the auditory system. The theory is that due to being over-sensitive to certain frequencies, the muscles in the auditory canal tighten in reaction, which makes them more sensitive to some things and less to others. So the Therapeutic Listening is designed to bring balance back to the way the auditory system functions. It can help with concentration along with a whole heap of other things. So far, Pinky is happy and that is what counts.
