I'm Christina Shaver, mother of two children -- one adopted and with special needs, and one neurotypical kid who I birthed. They're boys, three and five years old.

I started the Hopeful Parents website and am so thankful for everyone who has helped build it -- the writers, the community moderators, our social networking team, our advocacy team, and everyone who participates by commenting on the blog, becoming a member of the community, and participating in our activities.

I'm searching for every parent of a child with special needs so we can come together for mutual support and advocate for the rights and accommodations for our kids. With your help, we can find everyone.
