use of partial vs full names

So how do people decide what name to use on their blog and then on a forum like this? I've noticed a lot of people use full name, others use a made up name, and others are using both in related settings, like Christina. I deliberately used only my first name to write for my individual blog and for HP, and my full name came up here just because the logon requested it and then auto-listed it....but I'm curious what others have done?

I noticed when we first began the forum that my full name came up because it was requested (and listed as "required") by the login process. I went back into my profile and changed it to what I use on other forums. You (hopefully) won't find my last name on too many things. I list my kids' names in my blog and on forums, so I at least try to limit the info a little....
