Hopeful Parents Community

where parents of kids with special needs connect

Hi everyone,
I thought I had introduced myself when this site first started, but reading back through the forum I didn't see any such post, so maybe I dreamed it?
Anyway, I am mom to a six year old daughter who is currently diagnosed PDD-NOS, though her original diagnosis was high functioning autism. I also have twin two year olds. I have a blog at http://www.thesimplelifekdl.blogspot.com. It is part hobby, part accountability for continuing to read, learn new strategies, and in general be the best mom I can be.
Here's where the survey (of sorts) comes in. I'm starting a series of posts on various special needs. My first one can be read here: http://thesimplelifekdl.blogspot.com/2010/04/new-category-and-tribu... I know all sorts of special needs are represented in the Hopeful Parents Community, so I thought this might be a good way to develop a list to work from. Just leave a comment here or at the post above if you don't mind sharing the special need that your child is affected by.
Thanks,

Hi Kimberly! Thanks for your post here, and it's too bad no one has gotten back to you yet. Such a good idea. We have a lot of members on this site, but not a lot of activity...yet! Please stick around and hopefully we can start building a community here.

Hi kimberly,

Nice to meet you. You sound busy with 2 year old twin boys. I'm new here. I have 4 kids 3 boys and one extra special girl. She is cute, fun and extra sweet despite her challenges. She is living a very fun 5 year old life. She has chromosome 14 q deletion and it was a rough start but now she is flying now.

I hope to meet other bloggers here.
