Hi! My Intro

I just found this site, and I LOVE it!  I'll be a regular on here for sure.

My name is Heather, and I'm the mommy to 3 great kids.  My youngest, Carter, was born with a cleft lip/palate and was missing his right ear, so we knew that something was up with him right away.  He spent 10 weeks in the NICU during which he somehow caught an infection that turned into Meningitis and Endocarditis.  We're so lucky that he's here today.  We also learned that he has a chromosomal disorder which has given him several birth defects including hearing loss, kidney issues, and airway issues.  Even though it's a hard life being a special needs parent (as you all know), I wouldn't change one thing about him.  He is perfect the way he is.
